Planning a Trip

Jake and Priya are colleagues. They are having coffee after work. Jake: Have you decided where you're going in August? Priya: Not yet. I've been looking at Portugal, but the flights have got really expensive since last month. Jake: Have you thought about going by train? I went to Lisbon by train two years ago. It took two days, but it was one of the best trips I've ever done. Priya: Two days? I don't think I'd have the patience. What did you do all that time? Jake: I read, I slept, I talked to people. There was a Spanish family who shared their food with me. You don't get that on a plane. Priya: That sounds lovely, actually. But I only have ten days off. If I spent four of them travelling, I'd have almost no time in Portugal. Jake: True. What about somewhere closer, then? If you took the train to the south of France, you'd be there in six hours. Priya: I've never been to France. Is it expensive? Jake: It can be, but not if you stay in small towns instead of the big cities. I know a village near Toulouse where my cousin used to live. I can send you the name. Priya: Please do. And if I go, you have to promise you'll water my plants. Jake: Deal. But only if you bring me back some cheese.
