The Lost Dog

Last Tuesday, Ben lost his dog. The dog's name is Max. He is small and brown, and he loves to run. In the morning Ben opened the front door to get the post, and Max ran out into the street. Ben called him, but Max didn't come back. Ben looked for Max all day. He walked around the park and asked people, "Did you see a small brown dog?" Nobody saw him. Ben was very sad. In the evening he made twenty posters with a photo of Max and his phone number. He put them on trees and in shop windows. The next day, at eight o'clock in the morning, his phone rang. A woman said, "Hello, I think I have your dog. He is in my garden. He is eating my flowers!" She lived only two streets away. Ben ran to her house. Max was there, dirty but happy. Ben thanked the woman and gave her a box of chocolates. Now Ben always closes the door before he gets the post.
