Announcement on the Global Digital Culture Forum 2025
The International Council for Inclusive Media (ICIM) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Global Digital Culture Forum 2025, which will take place online from 3–5 March. Responding to recent events in which AI-generated images and deepfake videos have influenced public debates, the Council has decided to focus this year’s program on “Truth, Creativity, and Responsibility in the Age of Algorithms.” Participants will explore how emerging technologies can both strengthen and undermine democratic discussion. While some commentators have claimed that “technology is running the show,” ICIM’s board has emphasized that human values must remain in the driver’s seat. It has been said that, if our organization had not invested early in open digital platforms, we would now be struggling to reach communities whose voices are rarely heard. The Forum will feature keynote speeches, moderated debates, and interactive workshops. Sessions will address questions such as whether cultural diversity can survive global streaming platforms, what should happen when online content breaks local taboos, and how independent creators can make a living without selling their souls to large platforms. Those who wish to attend are requested to register by 15 February. If you were to join without having reflected on your own media habits, you would miss an opportunity to get to the bottom of how you, too, shape the digital culture we all share.
