Leah's First Business Trip

Leah had always dreamed of traveling for work, but she had never expected it to happen so soon. After she finished university, she got a junior job in an international company. Six months later, she was offered a place on a business trip to Barcelona. Her manager explained that Leah had been chosen because she had studied Spanish. Before the flight, Leah felt nervous. She kept thinking, "If I make a mistake, my boss will be disappointed." However, the meetings went well, and some of her ideas were accepted by the Spanish team. In the evenings, the group was taken to local restaurants, where Leah practiced her Spanish with the waiters and learned about Catalan culture. On the last day, Leah walked alone along the beach and thought about her future. She realized the trip had increased her confidence and changed her perspective on work and education. "If I had stayed in my small town, I would never have met these people," she thought. "If I work hard, my temporary contract might become permanent." She flew home feeling tired but motivated.
